Just a tip if you like extra mature cheddar

I like cheddar and sometimes treat myself to a nice bit of smoked applewood (£14/kg), but am usually happy enough with Aldi's (£6.98/kg), however that M&S cheese sounds like it might be worth a try. It's priced at £4.25 on Ocado (£7.73/kg).YoungBlueEyes said:
I'm not going to admit that those 3 are just the mature cheddars. I also have little 'flavoured' ones (stilton+apricot etc), parmesan for cooking, smoked ones for eating chunks of just because. I'm also not going to admit I have a whole shelf in my fridge just for cheese...
Main reason for this reply though is just to commend you on the highly impressive amount of cheese in your house!1 -
Sure I’d give up me car before I gave up cheese!
I looked for double Gloucester cheese and chive wotsit but they - Lidl- only had it in slices (hmmm…) but I lifted a pack anyway so there’s them in there now too.Well you’d not want to run short! 😆"One has to free oneself from the illusion that international climate change policy is environmental policy. Yep Marks’ is deffo worth the extra, it’s a beautiful cheese. The Lake District one was perfectly good too, can’t remember where I got it but I think it might have been Morrisons."One has to free oneself from the illusion that international climate change policy is environmental policy. Our favourite Cheddar is Barber's 1833 Vintage Reserve 2.99 for 190G from Watts Farms. I find that supermarket mature Cheddar is so salty that it ruins recipes.1

Not a budget buy but a luxury one that tastes amazing - Black Bomber by Snowdonia cheese company. First had it from one of those cheese wedding cakes, found it in Waitrose since.4

Oh Yes, lovely. I first found it in a garden centre "farm shop" Not budget but ideal one for a treat, can arrive in small waxed portion should you fancy giving one as a gift

Yes, I'm not sure if it's exclusive, but Morrisons definitely sell the Lake District cheese.YoungBlueEyes said:The Lake District one was perfectly good too, can’t remember where I got it but I think it might have been Morrisons.0
