Critical Illness Claims

Hi, I claimed on my Decreasing Term Critical Illness cover in Nov 2021 and due to service delays and the company requesting more and more information even though I provided ample medical evidence at the outset, I believe they are close to progressing my claim (now March 2023)
My question is, should they pay out will they pay at the level my policy was in Nov 2021 bearing in mind it has reduced at more than £300 per month?
Thank you

I would certainly expect payout to be in line with the terms on the date of claim.

When our CI paid out, I seem to remember it was based on when the claim was submitted, the payments since then were also refunded. I think there was also interest added too. We certainly ended up with more than we expected.
Ours only took 3 months and that was bad enough not knowing if it would be accepted, nearing on 18 months is an excessive amount of timeMake £2023 in 2023 (#36) £3479.30/£2023

Thank you. It's so frustrating. They made me have an assessment in which the assessor was "economical with the truth" and made assumptions even though they contradicted medical evidence etc. I provided MRI reports, nerve conduction studies etc, none of which can be altered but they still went with the assessor. So I have had to have new MRIs etc to give them further, recent evidence and then they sent a form to my neurosurgeon to complete.
Every time they get new correspondence it triggers a 20 working day turnaround. So frustrating but I am hoping we're almost at the end of this!0
