Seat IBIZA 1.2 How to lock and unlock it properly

I only use a car for short journeys, I recently bought a Seat IBIZA 1.2 from 2008. All fine but I can't figure out the locking and unlocking process. If I use the electric fob to lock up I still have to lock the drivers door separate. Unlocking with the non electric fob (where I put it in the lock) all ok. Sometimes I unlock and only the 2 front doors open. The IBIZA manual is as clear as mud talking about various stages of security, press once, keep it pressed twice, press twice separately.  My previous cars had no central locking so all new to me.

Any Seat IBIZA experts out there who can tell me in simple language the process I should be following. Thanks in advance.

The VW group cars that I have had from that era work as follows:

One blip opens the drivers door only
    Two blips opens everything

It sounds like yours is not behaving itself

Thanks for this. I’m selling my dad’s Fabia and assumed there was some security setting that I had to change to get all the doors to open. I’ve been opening drivers door and using the button on the dash to open the rest. Just went and tried the double blip. Much easier👍

There is a setting to switch between "one press opens all" and "one press only opens drivers door", possibly done at the dealer with VAGCOM.

People who always carry passengers prefer "one press opens all".

It is a security feature, when getting into your car alone at night all the criminals hiding on the passenger side can't get in with you.
