About the prize draw

This spring, we’re running a prize draw on our main social media account, which can be found using @nationaltrust on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. The competition will run from 00.01 on Monday 20 March 2023 to 23.59 on Friday 12 May 2023.

You can enter the prize draw by uploading a photo of blossom to your social media account, posting to your main feed (rather than your stories) and using the hashtag #BlossomWatchComp in the photo description. By uploading an image and tagging it with #BlossomWatchComp, you’re entering the prize draw and consenting to the terms and conditions below.

One name will be selected at random from the entrants, and that winner will be entitled to a National Trust Holidays voucher worth £6,000 to be redeemed by 31 December 2024. The random draw will be supervised by Woods Valldata, an independent company.

As we continue to celebrate blossom, we may select images from the entries to share as part of our current and future Blossom Watch campaigns. We'll contact the entrants directly to request permission to do so.

This prize draw is open to all UK residents aged 18 or over, except any employee of the National Trust and their immediate partners or family members.

The prize draw is free to enter and no purchase is necessary.

All entries must be submitted by uploading a photo of blossom (excluding temporary story uploads) using #BlossomWatchComp to an entrant’s personal Facebook, Twitter or Instagram account.

There is a limit of one entry per person.

Only entries from public social media accounts will be included in the draw.

The prize draw will run from 00.01 on 20 March 2023 to 23.59 on 12 May 2023 (the closing date) inclusive. Photos uploaded before or after these times will not be included in the prize draw.

Any entry that is late, incomplete or inappropriate will be deemed invalid at the discretion of the National Trust.

The National Trust accepts no responsibility for any technical failure, malfunction or any other problem with any server, internet access system or otherwise that may result in any entry being lost, corrupted or not properly registered or recorded. No responsibility will be taken for damaged or lost entries.

The National Trust will make all reasonable efforts to notify the winner within five business days of the closing date by a direct message to the winner’s social media account.

The entrant must respond to a designated Trust email address within five business days of receipt of the direct message confirming acceptance of the prize and providing their full name, date of birth, county and a valid email address.

If a winner does not respond in accordance with clause 10, the National Trust reserves the right to draw a replacement winner from the other eligible entries.

Within five business days of receipt of the response, the National Trust will make all reasonable efforts to award the prize (in the form of a digital voucher) to the winner using the email address provided.

The National Trust reserves the right to refuse to award the prize to anyone in breach of these terms and conditions.

By submitting your entry to the National Trust, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. All information detailing how to enter this competition forms part of these terms and conditions.

The National Trust, including its officers, directors, employees or agents, excludes all liability for any losses and/or damages of whatever nature and howsoever arising to the fullest extent permitted by applicable laws.

Events may occur that may render the prize draw itself or the awarding of the prize impossible due to reasons beyond our control, and we may vary or amend the prize draw accordingly. We will do everything we reasonably can to ensure that participants receive a prize of at least equal value.

Any entry must be your original work and it must not infringe the rights of third parties including copyright, trademark, trade secrets, privacy, publicity, personal or proprietary rights.

All images submitted must be the work of the entrant and must not have been published elsewhere (excluding social media) or have won a prize in any photographic competition.

It is the responsibility of each entrant to ensure that any images they submit have been taken with the consent of anyone who is identifiable in that image or the consent of their parent/guardian if they are under 16 and that they have been advised of the purpose of the submission and that their photograph may be published by the Trust.

We may select from the entries certain images that we would wish to use in the National Trust’s 2023 Blossom Watch campaign and any future Blossom Watch campaigns and will contact the entrants to request permission to do so. You agree that we may contact you by direct message to your social media account to discuss potential use of your entry beyond submission to the prize draw and, if agreed, to obtain your permission to do so. Such discussion and negotiation will be independent from the prize draw.

Full copyright title shall be retained by the photographer of any entry.

Any entry you provide shall be non-confidential.

The National Trust takes your privacy very seriously; we will only use your personal information in accordance with the terms of the National Trust’s Privacy Policy. By submitting an entry, you acknowledge and agree that you have read and accepted the terms of our Privacy Policy.

The prize is a National Trust Holidays voucher worth £6,000 to be redeemed against the cost of booking one or more holiday(s) on the National Trust Holiday website. Redemption is subject to availability and does not include any extras.

No cash alternative or refund will be given. The prize is non-transferable.

The prize cannot be used to purchase National Trust gift cards or vouchers or redeemed against purchases already made.

The prize is not valid for Historic House Hotels bookings or those managed by third parties.

The voucher can be used as part payment towards a higher value holiday in which case the winner is responsible for paying the balance.

The holiday(s) must be booked and taken before 31 December 2024.

We recommend guests take out travel insurance after booking their holiday.

The National Trust will not be responsible for any other transport or accommodation costs incurred in the acceptance or fulfilment of the prize.

The National Trust will publish the surname and county of the prize winner, and a copy of the winning entry. If you object to some or all of your details being published or made available, please contact the National Trust at blossomwatch@nationaltrust.org.uk.

These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law, and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
