  • My mother has just been scammed in exactly the same way - we have discovered over £344 is irregular payments to this club for nothing in return - she evidently verbally agreed to a 28 day trial of their gardening club back in 2022 (she has dementia so cant remember anything). Still waiting for our refund .......
This company should be shutdown as its all a complete scam and must be netting the directors millions of pounds from vulnerable old people across the UK.
  • My 86 year old father keeps being scammed every few months.  He bought something, a few years ago, from one of the many companies under the Direct Response Marketing Group Ltd umbrella and they call him every now and then and a few days later a welcome pack arrives and the money is debited from his account.

I have managed to retrieve the money thus far, but how is this allowed to continue?!  These people are the scum of the earth and monetary fines have no impact - people need to be jailed!
  • This issue is STILL continuing. I called in to see my 89 year old father this morning. He was confused about Premier Club and Rewards Club being charged against his credit card. Closer inspection of his statements revealed that these payments dated back to September, the day AFTER he had ordered a £25 set of socks from...... Easylife. Santander bank was very helpful and Easylife have 'said' that they would refund the five payments discovered of £18.50 each. Just as worrying was that Santander said that they could see approximately 10 other attempted and associated claims for payment from my father's card adding up to around £400. The bank said that these had been declined due to suspected fraud but she felt sure were associated. Apparently, December is a particularly vulnerable time.

I have just been dealing with my late Father's estate and saw 3 Premierclub payments on a recent bank statement. From doing a Google search, I came across all this information and the contact details for Easylife (thank you). I called them they stopped taking payments and I was asked to email them with a death certificate which I have and requested a full refund as my dad was disabled and would never have been able to use any of the benefits. They have responded to my email, asking for the dates and amounts to refund. I only have bank statements back to June 2024 and have found 18 payments at a total of £608.94. I believe he was probably paying this for a while. Unfortunately the nearest bank is miles away and difficult for me to get there for a full list of the payments. Does anyone know if Easylife will have a list of the transactions as surely they'd need that for tax purposes etc. What I'd want to do is go back to them telling them to check their transactions but if they say they can't then I will have to get to the bank for a list. Thank you
