Debt Recovery Plus - PCN Assistance - Misspelled Registration

Hi,
Any help appreciated - My wife misspelled the registration on the parking ticket which was paid for in March 2022.
We have recently moved out of our home while we wait for our house to be built. We have received some letters at our old house from Debt Recovery Plus who have taken over this from Highview Parking. The letter is dated 7/2/23.
My wife called them when she received the original PCN stating this was paid for but the registration was input incorrectly bit it was determined this was her fault and that nothing could be done. We now have received a letter asking for £170. I just wondered if anything could be done to argue against this - I assume it is too late to appeal
Thanks in advance

You need to contact Highview by email or letter. Never, ever phone these companies as you need to keep a record of all communication. You tell the Highview DPO that they must "erase" your old address and update their records and those of any of their agents to your current address.
It's a pity you did not come here first before your wife "called" DRP who are nothing but a bunch of debt collectors with no powers to do anything about this PCN. They will threaten all sorts of horrible things but in reality, they are powerless and are relying on victims such as yourselves to panic and pay, not only the original £100 but their false add-on costs.
Now, you need to read, re-read and read again the Newbies/FAQ thread to fully understand where you are in this process and what the next steps are.1 -
Well you hopefully already know when you read the 4th post of NEWBIES PLEASE READ THESE FAQS FIRST, that you ignore £170 debt demand letters.
So no phoning them. Not anyone.
She needs to just send Highview a SAR and rectification notice (insisting they ERASE the old postal address) as explained in the second post of the NEWBIES FAQS. That section even tells everyone how to find the right email address.
Come back if she gets a Court claim. Easy as pie to defend. No risk, no costs, no CCJ as long as you don't ignore a court claim and don't leave Highview or their agents with an old postal address.
Oh and we assume you've already exhausted the dead easy route to cancel private PCNs - explained clearly as 'PLAN A' in the first post of the Newbies FAQS. Can be done at ANY stage. I'm not talking about appeal...PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
