That continues this year. A garden centre / restaurant in our area has just advertised their busiest ever day. I went to a restaurant for a modest family meal two weeks ago. We went early as some people with us were going to the theatre, and shortly after we arrived they started turning people away as they were full up.

    Maybe they were all bricklayers?

Some bricklayers now earning OVER £125,000 due to shortages (msn.com)

I start my introduction to bricklaying evening classes at the local college in May (free).

Joked to other half that when we're poor I can be a brickie in the summer and decorator in the winter.

Maybe I should investigate bricklaying in more depth!

Am doing primarily for interest as have a sizeable stretch of repointing to tackle on the house this year and thought I might pick up a tip or two. Previous smaller tasks have been fine.

Maybe I'll find a younger fellow student who is keen to practise their skills!
