Am just going through the in laws finances, unfortunately the MIL passed away at the weekend, and have found that they have a Lloyds Select account which charges them a fee of £7 per month.
Now me a being a keen MSE'er I was wondering if any Lloyds customers have managed to get a current accoutn without any charges. Looking on the LTSB website it doesn't look as if they support 'free' accounts anymore, except for students, Islamic acc., under 19, and graduates.
Any comments appreciated.

Lloyds still offer a free bank account, called Classic, which is available to everyone. The Classic Plus account is also free, and pays a better rate of interest if you can pay in £1,000 per month.0

Yes they have the classic current account - no fees.
They would lose the AA and mobile phone cover if they convert the account.0 -
In fact I have just downgraded my Lloyds acct to a Classic today Just call 0845 3000000 and they will do it while you're on the phone. (They will try to flog you a credit card, home insurance, and a savings acct too probably).:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0
