Universal Credit Fit Note

After a change in circumstance, the dwp informed me that i had to make a new claim for uc, i was previously on esa in the support group, i also get enhanced rate for pip, mobility and daily living. After making a claim for uc on march 1st i had to visit the job centre to take my id ect, i also had to take in a fit note from my gp, this lasts for 3mths. I had a message in my journal today saying that i am in the Limited capability for work and work-related activity group. I have been  told that i dont need to keep attending the job centre for interviews ect, what i would like to know is Do i have to continue to send in fit notes? My first only lasts 3mths, the gp said he wasnt allowed to do one the first time that lasted longer but said future ones if needed would be for 6 mths at a time. There is nothing in my journal to state that i dont need to send in fit notes. Your advice would be very welcomed.

No, if you have been placed in Limited Capability for Work and Work Related Activity (LCWRA) then you do not need to provide any more fit notes for now. LCWRA is the UC equivalent of the Support Group on ESA.

It is not in your journal but it is stated in the UCD81 letter, which advised of the group you have been put in.

Quote from the 2nd paragraph on P1 just under advising you of the group you are in.

We will not ask you to search for work or prepare for work - You maybe awarded extra money each month because of your disability or health condition - you no longer need to send us statements of fitness for work from your doctor unless your condition changes. These statements are also known as doctors notes, sick notes or fit notes.

Yes it does say this but the OP transferred from ESA Support Group so wouldn't have received that letter.

I wonder if this could change once latest gov changes are implemented.
Though thanks for reminder that No further fit notes required whilst claiming LCWRA.
