Boxing Day Petrol

I'm going to be doing quite a lot of driving on Christmas Day and Boxing Day, to my mum's in Morecambe on the big day and back home on Boxing Day.
The problem is I'm not confident I can do it on a single tank of fuel, and I'm aware that not many petrol stations will be open on Boxing Day. (obviously getting there isn't a problem as I can fill up readily on the 24th, but getting back might be).
I had hoped that the 24 hour card operated pumps at Asda would be available but the customer services desk at my local store say they won't be, and I can't remember whether the Lancaster branch (nearest to mum) even has them.
So the question is - where can I get reasonably priced (I know this is a relative thing!) petrol close to the Lancaster to Bolton section of the M6 on Boxing Day that isn't a motorway services? Is anyone aware of a site which lists such things?
Thanks for your thoughts, and Merry Christmas to all

There's petrolprices.com, they will tell you the names of the cheapest petrol stations in whatever area you want. You could then use the phonebooke/google/yell.com to get their phone number so you can ask if they're open boxing day. Supermarkets will no doubt be one of the cheapest but I don't think any will be open boxing day, if you wanted you could check on the store finders on tesco.com/morrisons.co.uk etc0

Just use a service station and put in what you will need to cover your journey. If service station fuel is 10p more than Asda a full tank on my car will only cost £5 extra - well worth it for the convenience of it being open.0

lol does your name contain the type of car you own, if so, take a more economical car.and one tank will do it.0

Boxing Day is almost like a normal weekend - many petrol stations will be open to catch the shoppers off to the Sales0

Our local Tesco store (sorry nowhere near Lancaster/Morecambe) is open from 9.00 am on Boxing Day (it doesn't say what time it shuts).
Unsure whether any Tesco stores with a petrols station in the Morecambe/Lancaster area though.Thrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End
You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time0 -
Thanks for the info, I'm a lot more confident of not ending up on the hard shoulder now! And no, it's a much more modest car than my name implies, a Micra!0

How about Sainsburys at Bamber Bridge?
I sometimes stop there on the way to Scotland, just west of jn 29 on the M6, slight diversion on the M65 for you.0 -
Hiya,
The Asda at Clayton Green nr Jct 28/29 M6 has a 24hr petrol station & it was open boxing day last year (I filled up there) so I would assume it'll be open this year too.
