Energy saving tips

Does anyone charge their devices in the usb ports on the TV to save energy? I charge my portable power banks, phone, flash lights I bought when I thought there would be the power cuts?

I thing the TV will draw more power if you have devices like phones and power banks attached to the USB ports.
Someone please tell me what money is

There would be no net energy saving, the TV does not get free energy. Any saving, even with free energy would also be minimal, charging a high end mobile phone in full every day costs around 90p over an entire year.

I tell you what I will plug in my Tapo p110 and let you all know but suspect it will just draw more power for that usb connected port rather than be free power.

Highly unlikely but does raise the question of power devices in the car when driving does the draw on power diminish fuel consumption and cost more than electricity at home.

    Really?

I can't believe anybody thinks that there is even the remotest possibility that your television will provide you with a free source of electricity.

Where exactly do you believe the TV gets its energy from?

Maybe it's from all that static received from the Big Bang, the Cosmic Microwave Background.  ;)

    I agree.

But it is funny and we all need a laugh from time to time

As ridiculous as it sounded, there may be some mileage in it, potentially the usb power supply from the tv might be more efficient than the stand alone plug in the wall charger?

I don't know the answer, but I do know the savings/losses will be minimal.

The reality is that if you are giving something electricity it has to be coming from somewhere, if it is connected to the grid, you will be paying for it.
