On Firefox and XP, can't find fav's icon

Recently changed to mozilla firefox and experienced the tabs along the top, which I didn't favour, but somehow I appear to have rid myself of them, and was pleased. But in doing so, I've also lost the "favourites" and "add to favourites" icons. How can I get those two back?.

To go back, try -view, toolbars and put tick against Bookmarks Toolbar.

Or if you just want the Bookmarks icon back, do as above but ignore Bookmarks
Toolbar, click Customise and with left mouse button drag Bookmarks icon to where you want it e.g.next to refresh circular arrow.

Short cut for Add Bookmark is ctrl+d

Thanks, but last night in a period of idle surfing, I decided to see what the buttons at the very top did. I thought if I click on one, see what it does, i can always go back and untick.HUH!

I found that those pages that I would normally enter as they'd saved password etc, wouldn't let me in. Then i noticed something about cookies. So I left it.

Today I couldn't enter so many, I thought I'd delete/remove firefox and use IE, that is OK. Later today I will install FF again and hopefully as a new user, it will come back fresh as new, will it?
