Good morning, thanks for starting Gers,It's raining here, I'd hoped it would be sunny and windy again like yesterday but no.So sorry about your friend TA, it's so sad.Glad you got your finances sorted out Gers, we're going to do it as well. I don't mind doing it actually, once we get started.Hello Mehefin, that was a nice newsy post yesterday, hope you're now completely over the lurgy you had at the beginning of the year.Taff, there are roadworks all over the place here - I think councils use any budget they've got left before the end of the financial year. I think it's use it or lose it.I'm going out this morning for a bit of shopping, not a lot else planned except for the usual household jobs.Hope everyone has a good day - take care folks.13

More overnight rain, now the sky is clear though not promising. Yesterday was just weird, lovely bright periods and then short sharp torrential rain showers. I ventured into town for a wee while. My GP phoned to talk about my hip X-ray. We're now going to plan the next steps which, for now, don't include surgery. Thank goodness as I was worried about it. A physiotherapist will phone me soon. Later on a letter arrived cancelling my hospital appointment for next month which is a pain, no new date was given so back to waiting.I got the scanning done. All the German documents from this latest batch have been sent to the lovely woman who does the translations. These are from a memories book I pulled together in 2003 for my DM's 75th birthday. All lot of them are in old-fashioned writing which is difficult to decipher so need expert eyes.Today my cleaner is coming. I'm going to experiment with her helping me change the duvet cover. Currently I have two duvets joined up so are unwieldy to manage easily. We'll see.I hope that everyone is doing OK. Happy Thursday to all.11

Morning all
Bright and sunny here for now but more rain due mid morning, I’m off to collect my private client today and take him to work, will nip into Lidl on the way home for the few bits I can’t get in Aldi.
Jacket Spuds for dinner tonight with cheese ham and coleslaw with salad, I have put a wash on this morning but it will have to go on the airer.
Mum is still testing positive but feels so much better hopefully she will get a clear result soon.
Have good days all and take care xxx13 -
Morning folks and thanks for the early kick off GERS.
It's sunny but very gusty weather for us today. Yesterday our day wandering round Skipton was lovely in the warm sunshine, it felt like Spring had finally sprung! (For now!) We were back to our original pub for lunch (we fell out with it when we thought the food had gone downhill) and it was back to it's previous good standard yesterday. We both had an enormous steak in ale pie with chips, peas and gravy and it was so good we stuffed every last morsel down! It was a market of two halves - one side had all the stalls set up but the other didn't for some reason. Apart from lunch my only spend was on two new dosset boxes and Easter money wallets for the girls.
Today I am grounded so a bit of cleaning may get done and then I have the 2 DGDs for tea and sleepover whilst DD and her DP live it up in Liverpool for a couple of days. (Highlight being going to see Elton John on his farewell tour) This is an early birthday treat from her lovely chap.
Have a lovely day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, getting better or MIA. Take care all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"11 -
Morning everyone
Still windy here but not as bad as yesterday.
I really enjoyed The Fabelmans yesterday - well worth seeing. I've put my name down to steward at several other films in April, it's handy that they often show a film on a Wednesday afternoon when I don't work. I'm still too tired to go to anything at night...I'd be danger of dozing off!
I put a dye on my hair when I came home - the photos little one took of me asleep in bed last weekend showed how badly it needed doing!
I need to go for some shopping this morning then work at lunchtime.
Hope everyone has a good day today x12 -
Morning. The early promise of sun and wind yesterday disintegrated into hammering down all afternoon and night and it looks like today is going the same way. Have a cat to take to the vets today, otherwise that's it for formal plans, informal ones are more gardening, more crochet [ 2/3 of the way through now] ,more where are they now new life in the sun [ I worked out last night the beer anf gin makers live in a village about twenty mintues away from the alpaca farmers and they both did the same medieval fayre at the same time but were featured on different series which was quite bizarre because there was zero interaction between them...] and maybe some washing of clothes depending on the time of the rain. Same old same old...Gers, hip treatment sounds promising...but your duvet sounds like a nightmare...good luck with both! Izzy, you may have sts but you've come so far so the odd blip isn't going to hurt...Scarlet, i think you're right. We always used to joke when yet another roundabout would be put in where I used to live in March always..Iris, have a nice social meal out. Ruby ,good ot hear your mum is improving. TA, enjoy having your family stay, nice to hear someone else is eating all the pies not just me
mehefin, nice to see you, things are sounding more positive...Take care all, shout out to the not 100% ers...
