I’ve received my renewal with aviva, it’s £100 more than I can get on a comparison site. I’ve taken out the new policy and gone to cancel the auto renewal on the aviva app. It’s due to renew on the 24th March (new policy starts on the same day)

 I’ve just received an email from aviva cancelling my policy as of now! 2 days before it renews, leaving me with no insurance for tomorrow and losing a years no claims!!

I’ve told my new insurer that I have 10 years ncp but now I only have 9 years. 

Has this happened to anyone before? Is there anyway I can get the 10 years ncb?

Speak to Aviva - either you or they have pressed the wrong button somewhere. Only they can fix it.

In this circumstance you would decline the renewal quote not "cancel"... sounds like you've accidently told them to terminate the policy early rather than allow it to lapse so you need to get on to them to advise of your error and see what they can do.

The difference between 9 and 10 years is going to be zero however barrel scrapers will charge an admin fee to change and potentially will say there is an additional premium too.

As DGG note this is the most likely scenario.

Why have you lost a years NCD?  Your renewal documents will have it on them.  Even if they don't I doubt it would make a material difference.
