Travel Insurance Query

Hello,

I hope I can get some advice please

Last time I got travel insurance was summer 2019.  Going to the Canary Islands in Sept this year :-)

My question is about pre-existing conditions.  I am 47 yrs old, female.  I was absolutely plagued with headaches and the odd migraine for about 4 and a half years (lady change related I expect).  Taken to hospital by my hubby a couple of times with very bad migraine, where blood pressure was taken and it was sky high because I was in pain.  I ended up on a high blood pressure medication Lisinopril to help control the headache/migraine but now have a diagnosis of hypertension on my medical record purely because of those hospital visits.  I don't consider myself to suffer from high blood pressure.  I don't agree with putting high blood pressure on my travel insurance quotes but understand I must. The reason I don't agree with putting it on, is because there's probably hundreds of travellers with high BP who don't know they have it and are untreated.     I'm also taking HRT.  Do I declare that lol ?

I have done a couple of quotes with my other 2 family members using Go Compare, Compare the Market etc and the quotes are crazy high and not many of them either.   My hubby recently had a camera down this throat to investigate excess acid issues, samples taken which came back all clear, was given meds but no longer taking them. Now discharged from the hospital back to GP.  Daughter had a non cancerous lump removed from her breast last summer which I can't imagine would cause any problems on holiday.  Do I need to declare these conditions as well ?

Could I get a different travel insurance aiming at people with hypertension and hubby and daughter go with a different provider or must we all be under the same provider ?

Sorry for waffling on.  But I'd like to get travel insurance sorted as soon as possible really.

Thanks very much

    Hi

We have, i have phone for quotes and our are massive close to 1k inc usa, travel

The online questions were celar IMO, EG, have you had,  or waitng for seen a doctor, visited a hospital etc inn the last xx years?
Are you waiting for reuslts/innvestigations, etc, etc, etc

You need to answer the questions as they are requested otherwise your ins may be invalidated

You can phonne some providers, I rang Staysure  (have good defacto reviews) and they will help with any questions if you are unsure and give you a price but not if you are awaiting investions or medical outcomes.

    Thnaks

    ps this may help

You simply have to answer the questions honestly, the questions dont ask you to declare things you think are significant or not.

Any false disclosure can result in the policy being void if the insurer believes it was done intentionally or recklessly even if it'd have made no difference even if you had answered honestly.

Google found me a specialist comparison site for pre-existing conditions (not hypertension). I think it was this one.
I read somewhere that if you insure as a group, the whole group is rated at the highest risk out of the group, so it may be worth comparing individual policies against any group policy?

When I said "not hypertension" I meant that I was not looking for cover for hypertension. I did not mean that they won't cover hypertension.

You need to examine the policy details.  Most insurers have a list of conditions which don't have to be declared and high blood pressure is often one of them.  However, you also need to check that you still don't have to declare if you have a number of the conditions on the 'non-declare' list (if that makes sense).

Me and husband have diabetes, hypertension, migraine and all sorts.  We've had very reasonable quotes from StaySure including all those things.
