Letter Before Claim Gladstone Solicitors

Hello MSE Forum,

I have received a "letter before claim" 30 day notice from Gladstone Solicitors threatening a CCJ about a parking fine back in 2020 with Parking Control Management (UK) Limited for an "overstay" in a petrol station.

I've never replied to any of the letters before these.

£170 charge In total
I no longer am keeper of the vehicle and It's been scrapped since.

Is there a process/template I can use to go back to them? Tried checking the forums but I won't lie the posts are a bit confusing as to what I need to complete first etc. This is my first fine I am contesting.

Thanks In advance

Yes, what to do at LBC stage is set out in a couple of simple paragraphs in the 2nd post of the NEWBIES thread. Read it again.  Tis easy.

    It isn't a fine.

It is not a "fine". It is a dispute over an alleged debt because some private parking company issued you a spurious invoice all those years ago. What you originally received was an "invoice". Count the number of times the word "fine" appears in all the paperwork you've received over this and tell us the answer.

GLADSTONES ????? THEY ARE A JOKE. The inventors of the IPC/IAS SCAM

Did these fools really threaten a CCJ ?   before a court hearing
We would love to see that letter

There is no £170 parking ticket and never will be so they need to explain the fake £70 add-on to you, if not  to a judge ... and as Judges have already told Gladstones they cannot add fakes, they are certainly taking the p*ss out of a court .... especially if they are stupid enough to issue a court claim telling a judge in a statement of truth that the fake is true ?
  • Letters attached. They really do take the f*cking !!!!!!

  • Hi Guys I’m really sorry to open up an old thread, my car broke down at a local petrol station (i’m a very regular customer there), I made the staff aware of this and whilst I was waiting for it to be recovered I ended up getting a parking ticket for overstaying. I spoke to the owner of the petrol station and he advised they have nothing to do with it and that its the private parking company that I should speak to. When I spoke to the director of the private parking company (local company) he advised they don’t have it any longer because they keep it for 2 weeks in hope of a payment then they sell it on the the British Parking Association so they now own it (suspicious i know), long story short I have now received the LBA from Gladstones and I was about to send the letter to them that states “ I would like to know if the added £70 is a supposed DRA fee and if so, is it nett of VAT or inclusive, and if the latter, why am I being required to pay the operator's VAT?” but then i realised they have only added £50 not £70…i am now confused about my next steps?!?!? What do I do? Sorry for the long post and thank you in advance

@Mr_goody2shoes You really need to start your own thread if you cannot find the answers you want in the NEWBIE sticky.  The OP has not been active on the forum since March last year!
  • As above  -  "... but then i realised they have only added £50 not £70"  -  surely it is £70?  -  but please start your own thread.
  • Will do now…apologies, its my first time on a forum 😊
