Non wired soundbar for tv

we have a tv in the kitchen and the OH doesn’t want a soundbar on show so about 5ft from the tv there is a tall pantry cupboard
I’m thinking to put a power socket up there and plug a sound bar in to sit on the top.
As it won’t wired to the tv will it still work ok? I’m guessing there will be a bit of lag over Bluetooth and I’m worried the sound will be out of sync with the screen - the tv is a 2022 Samsung so I guess the latest Bluetooth standard will be in it.

I would just get a decent quality bluetooth speaker as that would provide plenty of oomph in a kitchen.Latency might be an issue but you won't know until you try it.Things that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid1

There are so many choices. IMO you don't need anything expensive as it would be wasted in the kitchen, so what's the budget going to be?Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

This is not to blast out really loud sound just to give a bit more depth/bass to the sound compared to the inbuilt speakers.ThanksHi there,
If you're planning to use a soundbar with your kitchen TV and connect it via Bluetooth, it's possible that there could be a bit of lag between the audio and video. However, this will depend on the specific soundbar and TV you're using, as well as the distance between them. Some soundbars are designed to minimize lag and sync well with the TV's audio, so it's worth doing some research to find one that would work well in your setup.
In addition to Bluetooth, some soundbars can also connect via WiFi. This can be a more stable and reliable option, but again, it will depend on the specific soundbar and TV you're using. It's worth checking the manuals or contacting the manufacturers to see if this is an option for your setup.
As for recommendations, if you're just looking for a soundbar to improve the audio quality a bit, there are plenty of affordable options available. Brands like Vizio, Sony, and Samsung all offer entry-level soundbars that can provide a noticeable improvement over your TV's built-in speakers. Just make sure to check the specs and reviews to ensure that the soundbar you choose will work well with your TV and fit in the space you have available.

Do you have any random bluetooth speaker? If you do then test your plan by seeing how it sounds where you propose to put it.
Lag is one potential problem but the sound coming from a totally different place from the screen can also be uncomfortable. Possibly less of an issue than in a lounge if its more background noise rather than focused watching but worth testing before you invest in equipment.1 -
As DullGreyGuy points out, while there are many Bluetooth soundbars within your budget, where you are going to put it would render it a bit pointless sound wise. Bluetooth will cause some lag, which may or may not be offset with the lip-sync mode in the TV.
Try an Echo dot or Google home if you have one.
Of course the best solution would be to convince your wife that a small soundbar would not look out of place...
