If you are complaining about a few sheep droppings wait until he moves his cows!
    But good manure
nah! It'll need to mature for a while first.

Most of the children going to a school in north of Scotland will be from farms or used to farm animals and their droppings so nothing to gain from using them in your argument .  Sheep droppings are grass, natural.  The farmer must only move the animals a few times a year and if you were to complain to environmental health I don’t think  they would be very sympathetic.

    Once more:
    * who owns the drive?
    * who has ROW over the drive?
    * what conditions if any are attached to any ROW?

Be careful you are not considered an incomer who wants to change the long established ways of the countryside..

Be prepared for noise of tractors working long into the night to get the hay in before the weather breaks, the sound of  bird scarers going off or the sound of gunfire during the night when they are lamping for foxes.

Then there is the fresh country air when they spray the fields with the slurry.

    Welcome to the countryside.
Hmm that smell of slurry 🤣🤣🤣

R33, please stop, and find out the info you have been asked to do. What does it say in your deeds, and the farmer's deeds?

Or are you now accepting that the farmer does have this right, but it's 'just' the mess that's the literal issue?

Is the nearby school LA controlled? If so (and even if not), have a quick chat with the HT and ask if they have a problem with this, and have they ever looked in to whether the farmer has a responsibility for keeping this pupil access route clear?  If LA controlled, the Edu's legal department would likely have a handle on it - if there is a legit issue.

I suspect you haven't any legit case. A large farm would likely have one of these spinning brush attachments, and would be considerate enough to use it, but it's probably an unjustifiable expense for a small farm. Unless they are obliged to.

Were you advised by your conveyancer of the neighbour's rights when you bought the place? If not, I wonder if it's too late for a claim? (I have no idea)

Beware what the farmer does on his land. My wife's work has to deal with a mad Welsh farmer (other mad farmers from across-the UK are available) who is know to dump piles of manure on his land and sheep heads atop poles when in a bad mood.
May you find your sister soon Helli.
    Sleep well.

Wait until the vermin trapper hangs fox and mole carcasses on the fence as proof of what he caught,

To be fair, there's not much of any of that in the Highlands.

    Plenty of sheep though!
