@allbarone I'm sure your father could take out an insurance for his funeral costs but are you thinking of a payout of say £3000 for a nominal premium say £100 ? If so think again
Lots of different threads on this forum about funeral costs - your grans £5000 was high, you can pay under £1000Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -

a family member passed away during the pandemic so we had to follow the covid rules. No church service, just a graveside service with 9 mourners, no wake. Funeral directors only had to do a 10 mile round trip and that was still just over £4,000.Robin9 said:@allbarone I'm sure your father could take out an insurance for his funeral costs but are you thinking of a payout of say £3000 for a nominal premium say £100 ? I believe burials are usually more expensive than cremations.Pennylane said:

We also suffered a death during the pandemic at the time when we were only allowed 30 people at the service, and not permitted to sing (we had to sit and listen to taped hymns). The costs was £3,700, which included a service, cremation and some optional extras like printed orders of service, video streaming etc. This was in the south of England, I think it would have been cheaper up north where we are.1
