Refund to old John Lewis Credit Card

I booked a flight with British airways in February 2022 on my John Lewis credit card. British Airways now need to make a refund to me and will only refund back to the credit card I originally used. This has now moved from to the new provider NewDay so my old card John Lewis credit card is invalid. I spoke to John Lewis Finance and they said I need to speak to HSBC who were the provider for the old card and gave me a number to call. HSBC said they had no record of this credit card and kept referring me back to John Lewis, who referred me to HSBC. British Airways won't budge on what card they make the payment to, even though my new card is same name and address. I didn't ask John Lewis to move my card and seem to now be stuck between a rock and hard place. Has anyone had this situation, and if so, how did you resolve it?

You didn't need to - it was a commercial decision.Fiona_Beaumont said:

Put in a formal complaint to the contact details for your old JLP card and have it sorted by HSBC.0 -
Have BA tried to refund or have they advised you they will refund to the old card?
Reason being I had a refund credited to my JL HSBC card a couple of months ago from my car insurance company.JL HSBC received the credit which put the old credit card account in credit. I contacted JL and they refunded the credit to my bank account.0 -
But the new JLP credit card company gave me HSBC as the contact details, and they say they don't have any details. Does anyone have a telephone number I can call for the old JLP card?MorningcoffeeIV said:

When you say "I contacted JL" do you mean the old card provider or the new one? and how did you contact them if it was the old one? The new provider refers me to HSBC (the old provider), and HSBC state they don't have any details.daveyjp said:Have BA tried to refund or have they advised you they will refund to the old card?

I never managed to activate my Newday Card so closed the account.
All contact was through the old HSBC Partnership Card app using the messaging system.
The HSBC card app says they are no longer taking messages, only calls on 0345 300 3833

That's why you need to raise the formal complaint to make HSBC look at it properly.Fiona_Beaumont said:
