    Financial services are listed as exceptions to the Distance Selling Regulations though savings products are not specifically mentioned.

    I suspect that as the FR e bond wasn’t funded last week when it was opened, and OP’s mum phoned YBS immediately after she funded it today & spotted her mistake, they accepted this was a genuine error.
