Parcels being returned by German Customs 'Deficient CN22'

Is anybody else having problems posting parcels to Germany. Almost every parcel I have sent is returned with a sticker saying 'missing or deficient CN22', sometimes even stuck over the fully completed CN22! I have tried putting as much information as I can but it doesn't seem to make any difference.
Looking online there are a few businesses having similar problems but they are also registering the shipping details online and I can't do that.
TIA

Dont send stuff to Germany but I stumbled across a small business ranting the other day about the new German laws on packaging and they were painful enough for her to now refuse to send anything to Germany.
Presumably you have done your LUCID registration etc for this?1 -
DeutschePost and associated German customs are a nightmare.
The Germans imo simply still bumping their gums about "the brexit".
I have no problems with any other postal service in Europe.
Simply stopped using the royal Mail unfortunately for shipping to Germany.
Even properly filled in CN23s for packages with a few hundred Euros genuine declarations were being held.
I had 2 German customers who were summoned in order to get goods released.1 -
I brought a new computer from Dell and they offered to recycle the old one for free. They filled in all the customs docs for me, I put copies in the package and displayed on the outside as requested, it was picked up by UPS and then returned two months later from Germany saying incorrect customs.0

Yes its the Germans playing up due to Brexit.Nothing wrong with this its written exactly the same as was written in Germany. Hence the SS that means a letter that looks like an elongated B. Never had any problems in 20 odd years until late.

Germany was always strict about its postage and customs information. We didn't need to include customs information before, when we were in the EU, but did have to address it absolutely exactly right. (Clearly you were doing so, to not have any problems during that time.) Now we do need to put customs information, since leaving the EU, and it seems people may be falling foul of strict rules they're not aware of.
I have sent one parcel to Germany since Brexit, and it got there fine. Whether that was a fluke, I don't know. It was printed off postage and customs form though, not handwritten, if that makes any difference.1 -

Is this still happening ? Sigh ! I had this issue several times back in summer last year, selling on Ebay, VAT pre-paid via Ebay IOSS, and using Royal Mail Click 'n' Drop online to generate labels with (allegedly) full IOSS information and CN22s. They were bounced back by Deutsche Post themselves, or the buyers refused to pay extra handling charges Deutsche Post were trying to charge them.
I just don't bother offering to Germany any more - this, plus the packaging issue, just make it too much aggravation for small sellers. The pre-payment of VAT issue is not strictly speaking anything to do with Brexit, but they are probably using it anyway.
I haven't had the problem with any other EU countries, but that said I haven't sold much there in the last six months or so.0 -
The German postal system is very strict for internal post as well as international. What we can't see in the photo is the CN22 applied to the parcel - is there a commodity code, country of origin of goods , etc. I can quite imagine it being rejected if anything is missing.Regarding the address, using ue for ü (u with an umlaut) is perfectly normal and acceptable. I don't think Eszett ß (for ss) is ever used for Düsseldorf. Here's the station sign for example.
