Where can I book a DIY package holiday and still get ATOL protection?

As I understand it, 'DIY' holidays are covered by the same ATOL protection as traditional package holidays when the flight and hotel or car hire are booked within the same transaction. Most travel websites will make it easy to book DIY flights+hotel packages assuming your flight is too & from a single destination and you are staying in a single hotel for the entire duration. However I am planning a longer trip to a foreign country with multiple stops, domestic flights, and hotels. Furthermore the airport from which I will travel too/from the UK is different.

Is there a reputable travel website which would let me build such a custom trip containing multiple flights and hotels, and then let me book it all in one transaction to be ATOL protected? I'd like to avoid visiting a travel agent in person as I'm not convinced they give the best value.

I would try trailfinders.
However I think it stands to reasons that you cannot expect something for nothing and you won't be able to get DIY prices for the same price as a company that offers ATOL protection and is reputable etc. There are obviously costs associated.

Maybe they might be able to provide what you want?

You've missed my point. I'm not trying to save money by building my own DIY package. I have a specific set of locations, flights, and hotels which I want included in my trip and I'm not able to find a website which lets me select them and pay in one transaction.

British Airways holidays will do it and their site has a Custom trip option which allows you to add multi-city flights, a number of hotels, cars etc.  Only useful for a handful of UK airports though.

Not sure I know of any agents doing it other than a visit/call to the specialists like Trailfinders/Travelbag

Expedia.co.uk might be worth trying to price up.   Make sure .co.uk rather than .com for ATOL protection on a flight+ arrangement.
