EGG savings to ING savings

i currently have some money in an EGG savings account, which had the 6 months higher interest rate, this finishes this month (oct), as my ING account has a higher rate that EGG's standard rate (5% ING - 4.75% EGG)
i wanted to transfer some or all of the money from EGG to ING.
Can I do this direct ?
or will i need to go Egg - bank - ING?
as i did originally

Hi,
It should be possible to move the money directly between accounts; the Egg account has a section ( Move Money, I think ) where you can enter details of your ING account.

Yes - You should be able to do this.
I believe you can give your ING Account No and Sort Code to Egg and request them to transfer the money.
However, with ING you can only transfer money out into your linked current account(s).
I'm not sure if Egg operate like this also...0 -
BACS payments direct to ING:
I thought I might have made a payment by this method but, on checking, I see that I haven't actually set up any details for ING, so I couldn't have done so.
I would ask ING if this will work and be guided by them. Remember, that you lose two days interest paying out of Egg savings wherever you send the money, but that would apply even if you could send money straight from Egg to ING. ING collect by direct debit so that you lose no further interest even if it takes a bit longer [at least 4 days althogether] by this route.
Good Luck.....under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0 -
Hi everyone.
Yes this works. I've tested it by doing a transfer of £10 from my egg savings to my ING savings. You just need to supply the sort code and account number of the ING account.
I think I've got the same Egg account as robnye because like him/her I need to move my savings from Egg to ING at the end of the month.
P.S. tried to post a reply to this a few days ago and the site locked up on me. Fingers crossed it works this time.0 -

As david78 has confirmed, you can transfer direct. All you need to do is first log into your ING Direct account and go to the paying in page. Beneath all the options about your linked accounts is some text, which will confirm your sort code and account number.
Then go to Egg, select transfer and then add an account. The payment should take three to four working days to go through.
Just make sure you get the numbers right, or else somebody will get a big bonus!0 -
