Sky v Tiscali v Telewest? I'm confused

How do,

I'm currently on the 'See, Speak, Surf' deal with sky @ £26/mth. For this I get free landline after 6 and at weekends, 8MB Broadband which is nearer 2.2 and some TV.

Is this a good deal in todays competitive market? I'd like to be able to record some telly programms but I need to upgrade to sky+ for this facility.

Can you play sky off with the competition and possibly get a free upgrade? I read sometime ago (can't remember where) about customers doing this (just like you would with your mobile) in the hope of grabbing a better deal.

I just want to know the best deal out there, it seems a mine field.

Also, what would happen to my sky e mail address should I change Broadband provider. Will I have to start afresh?

Any help would be greatfully received.

the deals are purposely made to be a minefield so no one understands them. Best bet is to trawl this site & make the best decision that suits you.
we have 4 channels and a vcr!
As for e-mail, get a gmail account for free and no matter your provider - tiscali - sky - bt - virgin etc your e-mail stays the same.
