Can you have NatWest and RBS 0% BT cards simultaneously?

I have had a thorough rummage around their site and searched this forum (although the search facility seems poor so I may have missed it), but I can't find a statement on this anywhere.

I opened a NatWest 0% BT card last week, and did a smallish (£3k) balance xfer as part of the application. Haven't received the card yet, but the BT has gone through from the other card.

I've just been through the Eligibility Checker on the RBS site, and it says I'm approved for effectively the same 0% BT card, it even offers me the same credit limit. I just don't want to "waste" a credit search by proceeding with this application, only to be told I can't have the RBS card because I already have the equivalent NatWest card.

Does anyone know?

If it helps I have 2 NatWest credit cards, one BT and one Reward. Applied through my app for my current account. It says you’re allowed 2 cards so I’d say go for it.

This appears to have worked. Significantly slower than the NatWest application (maybe it was referred to an underwriter?) but the balance transfer requested during the application process is now showing on the source card.
Part of me is tempted to go for an Ulster Bank application as well next

Edit 14/04/23: I went for an Ulster application too, and that also offered me the exact same card with the exact same limit, and appears to have been successful. Again no comms received, but the BT requested during the application has appeared on the source card so they must've opened the account

If it's of any interest, "hard" searches were recorded on Experian for each application. TransUnion reports the new accounts, but no searches recorded. Nothing at all reported on Equifax as yet.

Just to add a little more info in case it's any use to anyone: while the NatWest and RBS cards allow you to request a Balance Transfer from their respective mobile apps, the Ulster Bank app does not have this feature. The only way to request a Balance Transfer to Ulster Bank is to phone them.
In all cases, the BT is executed on the working day after it is requested.

Edit: I was wrong. The Balance Transfer option isn't on the main screen as with the other two apps, but if you start a Cora chat and tell her you want to do a Balance Transfer, a button comes up within the chat that takes you to the Balance Transfer screen

    Thanks for this post.

I had made an application for a Natwest 0% card however I was having problems passing the dreaded HooYu ID check - failing because of missing middle name.
It did ask for middle name during the application but I ignored it because this has never caused an issue with any previous credit application. Indeed, I've never had to submit ID documents for any previous credit card application!
The process didn't allow me to retrospectively add my middle name so I was resigned to missing out entirely on the 23 month offer.
Based on your experiences I cancelled the application and reapplied via RBS instead. Annoyingly the credit limit offered was 2k lower, although this might be because by this point another simultaneous stoozing application was then showing on my file.

I was caught in this trap too. I've applied for several hundred accounts with all sorts of financial institutions over the decades, and have never put my middle name and virtually always used an abbreviated form of my first name. Never been a problem before, but not acceptable to HooYu. Indeed, my existing NatWest login from when I held NatWest accounts before had my abbreviated name and no middle name, and no option to edit these. I had to re-apply as a new customer and enter my full name exactly as shown on my ID document.

Wish I read this earlier and currently stuck in the middle name issue! Warning to anyone applying for this, ensure you add all your middle names etc exactly as stated on your ID you plan to use

I have a Nat west bt 0% and 0fee card. This is coming close to end. I applied for RBs bt 0%0 fee credit card. I bt other credit cards onto new rbs bt card, however by mistake I also included a bt from my Nat West bt credit card. Which is all part of the same group. It looks like bt has gone through, though it was genuinely a mistake!

Maybe it will bounce back to Nat West cc?

Still yet to receive the physical bt credit card from RBS.

Having also opened a rbs current account  straight after cc application, I still can't see any details.of rbs credit card on online banking. But I can see current acc. details and I have received my curr. acc. debit card.  Hopefully current acc. and credit card acc will appear on same online page.

Can anyone confirm if they have had a similar experience?

I have received both my credt and debit cards for rbs however the customer numbers are different so both accounts do not appear on my profile on digital banking online or or mobile app.

    They asked that
they will need 3-5 days for the team to merge, they say that online banking will not be available and payees will be lost whilst this is sorted out.
    is this ok?

I transferred £1250 into rbs select account today, 8.7.23. The switch will complete on Tuesday 11.7.23.
I still havent had £200 for switching to rbs.

I wonder if i should wait until this £200 is paid before they sort it out merger of current acc and credit card profiles.

    Has anyone had similar experience?

Just an update. On 12th July I checked my rbs app and saw I had been given £200 incentive in my new RBS current account.

The credit card account shows up above my current rbs account on my RBS mobile app.

I still have a Nat West balance transfer credit card as well. The partial balance transfer I did from Nat West credit card to RBS Credit card has NOT bounced back.
