honda90man said:Well I got called back by the very helpful lady who tried to transfer me to the department she wanted me to talk to.I assume it’s the one that are trying to charge me £5097.Anyway I got through but it was an automated voice that told me they were busy and to call back later and then cur me off.
So I called Customer Services and by some miracle I got through again and spoke to a young man. This one couldn’t find my name in his system,so was unable to do anything.I used my name for 18 years on EBay,had 100% feedback and over 500 transactions. You just can’t believe it.
At this stage I am going to the press and see if they can help.
Keep contacting eBay until you've some form of conclusion.
Also, Katie Morley at The Telegraph is good at cases like this, where common sense in big companies is not present and buyer or seller is out in the cold. You can tell her about your story with name, your info and case details kminvestigates@telegraph.co.uk . Your case may be published although only if you consent to that.
Best of luck to you and try and keep us updated.2 -

Yes.EBay finally contacted me,today, and have finally sorted it out for me and cancelled the £5097 charge. This was following a letter I sent to them,by recorded delivery.
A very nice and helpful chap on the phone apologised for it taking so long, said it should have been dealt much sooner. They have also told me to stop using my normal email address as it is compromised.
Thanks to everyone for your comments.3 -

Can I suggest you pop over to the techie board and get someone to talk you through a very deep clean to get rid of any nasties there. If a hacker has your eBay password and your email passwords they potentially have access to all manner of things. Get your PC cleaned, change all your passwords and stay safe.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
