Dear All,
I am moving to Spain and starting a job in August.
Do you have any recommendations for which bank to choose or any other tips/information.
I was going to go out in May and see about opening an account then, but I imagine I would need POA etc?

Not sure what you mean by POA - if it is Power of Attorney, that would be for another person. So no, you would not need POA if you want to open an account for yourself.1 -
There's red tape involved in opening a Spanish bank account as a foreigner, probably you need your registration code (I forget the name, you'll need it anyway), and residential address proof. Check the expat forums.

You need to register for a tax code, there are two types, one for resident and one for no resident you may want to wait to have the residency status and use the right one.0

You would be better off not opening a Spanish bank account in my opinion.
Unless you like paying extremely high bank charges.
You would be far better opening a Wise.com euro account & having your wages paid into that then converting the euro's to GBP as & when necessary.
( If you are moving to Spain permanently & obtaining Residencia then things will need to be done differently. )
To open any Spanish bank account you will need an NIE Number, you will probably also need it to work there.
NIE number explanation below.
