HFC Finance claim

Options
Good afternoon. I wonder if anyone can help. I put a claim in to HFC finance for PPI in 2013/2014  I was sold this a long time ago. Probably 1999 - 2001. I had evidence of the payments and account numbers. When I put in the claim. They said the account was too old and they could not find my account.
Can I still claim under plevin or is it too late. Thank you. Maggie

1 - Did you still have the loan after 6th April 2008?  If no, then you do not qualify under Plevin.  This is because Plevin came about due to a change in the consumer credit act 2006, which only applied to existing loans from 2008
2 - Did you actually have PPI?  you say you have evidence of the payments and account number but do you have evidence that you paid PPI?

They should never have rejected your original complaint because they had no evidence.   They are required to use any evidence you can supply.  You may be able to get it reopened if you gave them that evidence at the time.

In June 2013 accounts owned by HFC Bank Limited, Endeavour Personal Finance and Sterling Credit Limited were transferred and are now being serviced by HSBC Bank plc. You can find a list of HFC Bank Limited’s trading names below.
