    Oh ok, thanks, I think I know what you mean, I will try to have another go - I will come back here crying if I still can't figure it out! I will explain my workings in the notes in IHT400 and hopefully that will be ok.

    Sorry, I forgot to add earlier, there is no marital home as parents live with the children and the 2 properties are rented out.

    For IHT purposes that might be a very bad situation as there may be no RNRB on her death.
