Thanks all, I'll just renew it. Good that it will use the PP photo as saves faffing around trying to make a compliant pic.
Seems like the most sensible solution 👍🏻

Just renew it, it has more uses than just being able to drive.

Nowadays if you can't prove who you are with Government Issued Photo ID (passport/driving licence) you can't even collect an order from screwfix or renew your library card.

Mmmm, have never been asked for photo ID at screw fix

    Nor I at Screwfix :) .

Nor do I need photo ID to join my local library, let alone renew any card they supply.  (Driving licence is one of ten possible documents they'll accept as proof name/address;  they accept more than those 10 as well!).

I'd advise the OP to get a couple of professional refresher lessons before venturing out on the roads as a driver in the future.  Lots have changed in 9 years and will continue to do so.

Will be handy for voting in the upcoming local elections, as you'll need photo ID to vote.

    Pay with paypal.

Mine didn't ask for ID last time, I get the impression they'd have given my tap inserts to anyone who asked for them :)
