Back in bed, it's so cosy.My lunch with old friends was really lovely. They live half an hour away, right at the end of a sea loch. Lots of laughs and conversation. The day was bright, dry and very spring-like so I decided to ditch my winter garb, broke out a medium weight jumper and wore my underused coat, it felt so good. Before I went I did a woollen quick wash and pit it on the clothes horse.Today is back to being dank and unpromising, thankfully it's not too cold though I'll be back to wearing winter clothes. 😀 Lunch will be some homemade lentil soup with some pork through it.I have no other plans so will go with whatever flow comes my way.Nelski - what a pain about your meter cupboard, I hope it gets fixed properly this time.Hugs to all could use or enjoy one. Happy Saturday to all.13

Good morning, thanks for starting Gers.
It's a grey start here but might pick up a bit. Yesterday turned into a lovely sunny day, it was warmish as well.
We went to Alnwick Gardens to renew our Friends of the Garden cards, and had a good wander round. Had lunch in a cafe in the town, so I didn't cook later, we just had a sandwich.
Happy birthday for yesterday Snoozer!
Well done on your run Coxy! I used to run with a friend 30- 35 years ago, but we weren't really dedicated, we would go out early in the mornings for an hour, and do a 10k fun run once a year and that was our limit.
Taff, your work on that board is so good, I've never done anything like thst, how clever you are.
I expect to be reading soon that you're doing your Dad's shed roof Nanny!
TA, I'm seeing space in my freezer, but I'm going to let it go down a bit further then defrost and clean it. I can walk to a medium sized Morries though, so it's easier for me.
I know I've missed people out, sorry everyone. There seems to be so much going on in everyone's lives, I should make notes as I read.
There seem to be a lot of sore throats about at the moment, hope sufferers will soon feel better.
Hope everyone has a good Saturday anyway, take care folks14 -
Morning All
Damp and overcast this morning, yesterday's washing still hanging about! It's been much milder this last couple of days but sadly no sunshine. Housework was done last night so nothing to do this weekend.
Fabulous chopping board -taff, you're very talented. I wouldn't want to use it, it's too pretty!
Glad you had a good wander about Alnwick Scarlett, I really enjoyed it when I went last year.
Hope your meter box is fixed now Nelski, I find them very ugly, mine is right by the front door.
Swim and shopping this morning then off out to lunch with DD and family in Glasgow.
Hope everyone is well or recovering, take care and have a good weekend. XX13 -
Morning all. Cloudy but dry this morning. I think I shall go crazy and hang the washing on the line for a blow for the first time this year as it's going to be dry according to the weather forecast. Newsflash - just looked out of the window and what a surprise, it's raining. Washing will go on the dryer then. They can put a man on the moon but can't get the weather forecast right.Love the chopping board Taff. It looked so pretty thatI wouldn't want to spoil it by using it for what it's meant for if it was mine!Making rock cakes today as I've not made them for a while.Found some burgers in the freezer yesterday so burger and chips for dinner tonight. Bought some onions thinking I didn't have any and then found some in the fridge in the garage so lots of fried onions to go with the bugers methinks.Have a good and safe day everyone x14

Morning all,
Raining here so I'll drive to FC. I still need to go to keep an eye on the scales. My TOTM is here so I've gained this week but still within my target.
Off to see BIL and the 2 mums later to drop off gifts. We are at a party tonight so expect to have a lazy day tomorrow. Sore throat still here and I've done a covid test just in case - negative luckily. Just a lurgy then!!
Belated Happy Birthday to @snoozer - I hope you enjoyed your theatre trip x
Love the chopping board @taff - what a lovely gift for your friend
So annoying about the meter cupboard @Nelski - hope you can get it sorted
Glad you enjoyed your lunch out @Gers. I met my friend for a herbal tea and toasted teacake - didn't fill me up and cost £5.15 so I should have had a sandwich!
Gosh I haven't had a rock cake in years @Chrisca50 - they were virtually all my mum would bake in the 70s.
Have a good day all and sending hugs to all those with woes.

Chrisca Rock cakes were something my grandad used to make but they only had about 2 currants per bun we found loads in his freezer after he died
Coxy Well done on the run I once did a half marathon walk for charity but i can actually say i hated every step but it was for cancer and mum had just been diagnosed so it was close to my heart

Pourimg with rain here too, it seems we have had nothing but rain 🌧 for days now !
DD is off out with some girlfriends to go wine tasting, it was a gift for her birthday from her friend, they have booked an Airbnb to make a night of it should be good fun. I am pup sitting but she is no bother at all.
I went round to mums yesterday as she has been feeling really poorly, she looked dreadful so I made her do a covid test and it was positive, poor thing is really suffering, I got her some painkillers and some squash, she had plenty of food in but I will ring her today and see if she needs anything, I just hope I don’t get it or my sister and her partner who visited the day before.
Curry for dinner tonight and I shall do some Bombay potatoes and a green bean curry to go with the chicken curry, I’m looking forward to it already.
WM is in with a towel load but it will have to be hung on the airer, OH and I will do some housework this morning and then get the dogs out.
Taff I love that board there was a client at work who did burning like that onto wood, it’s beautiful !
Have good days all and take care xx

Morning all..Thanks for the lovely comments, I'm giving it to her today, it's her birthday tomorrow, there's nothing like procrastination, I had the board a month ago and left it till the last minute again....and it should be used because otherwise, we'd be keeping things for best again and every day is a celebration so use up the best stuff and wear the good stuff. I did like that story during lockdown of the woman wearing ballgowns [or similar] to do her bin run...Meeting up later with friend and another friend for coffee and chat but otherwise my day is empty of plans. Sad to see Lance Reddick has passed away, I loved him in Fringe and The Wire.Gers, sounds lovely, and so does your soup!
Scarlet, Alnwick sounds lovely, I must do an itinerary one day of gardens to visit. camelot, enjoy your lunch out! Chrisca, another one who hasn't had a rock cake in years, I used to love them too, they rated alongside Welsh cakes...Izzy, hope you find some you time in your day of doings! Coxy, have a lovely time tonight! iris, hope you're feeling chirpier today, somtimtes, that's just the way.bella, how lovely in one way, he must have either loved them or loved giving them. Ruby, hope your mum recovers quickly, I've been reading about this one and it's not pleasant. Take care all, especially the ones not feeling 100%....
