Any suggestions regarding this conundrum?

I think the question you were asked before was important. What is your main aim (why do you want to move from where you are now/why did you want to move 'south'/and is there a time pressure that means it has to be 'now')?
Are you looking for somewhere you can more easily find work in your field? Or to be close to family? or some other reason? eg If it's for work, it might be worth you looking for and applying for jobs, then looking for a fiat when travelling for the interview. If it's to be closer to family/friends then can they help you find somewhere till you get yourself sorted out. etc.
Because there are cheap places to rent, but generally there's a relationship between the rental market and local employment/the area being desirable.I'm not an early bird or a night owl; I’m some form of permanently exhausted pigeon.2 -
That was also my feeling. My feline buddy is about to turn 18 and I'd not give him up for anything.mrmagoo38 said:RedFraggle said:I too have an indoor cat and understand the gravity of this suggestion but rehoming your cat may improve the likelihood of finding somewhere.
My only barrier finding a rental last summer was wanting somewhere to accomodate my cat and it was still extremely difficult. I am high salary, same employer for 15 years, no kids, great reference, wanting unfurnished 12 month AST, targeting properties with hard floors to avoid the carpet issue and the answer to most properties was no to my feline friend.
Renting is so competitive these days it's difficult to be the chosen tenant.
Openrent is a good platform as it's direct to landlord so skips the agent bias factor.
Absolutely not even a slight option.
My son and i got our Cat shortly after my sons mum was deemed as incapable of taking care of our son.
The cat is extremely important to him, as you might imagine. But i do appreciate your sincerity, thought and effort to help.
Focus on properties with hard floors, it's an easier negotiation and unfurnished if you can. If you don't have furniture it's relatively easy to pick stuff up cheap or free on Facebook marketplace or in charity shops.
Thank you taking my post in the manner it was intended.Officially in a clique of idiots2 -
This report is from 2019, but highlights the areas where vanishingly few properties are available for rent at the LHA rate or below - and I believe the situation has only got worse. It may help give you ideas of places to look.
But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.
