I'm a non salaried director of my spouse's limited company but I'm not a shareholder since I'm am on payroll for a full time job and don't need the extra income for tax liability. Can the limited company make pension contributions to my personal pension as a way of taking income from the business tax efficiently?

Your overall contributions, whether made by you or your employer, are limited to £40,000 (to be increased to £60,000) a year. There is no requirement for you to receive a salary from your spouse's limited company to allow the company to make pension contributions on your behalf, but the company has to be able to show that the payments are made wholly and exclusively for the purposes of its trade to obtain a corporation tax deduction for the contributions.0
