Yes, I noted when same-sex marriage became legal that some same-sex couples still wanted a civil partnership!  In fact I know a gay couple where one husband’s family only know about the civil partnership, and the other husband’s family about the (later) marriage.  The one who ‘counts’ the civil partnership quoted Groucho saying ‘I don’t want to belong to any club that will accept me as a member’, and I’m still thinking about that one!  But we digress
