Creditstar haven’t defaulted me after 7 years of no payments

Hi, after checking my credit report I found an old Creditstar loan from 2015 (I actually forgot that I ever had a loan from them). Well it seems I didn’t repay the loan and now have several years of missed payments on the account. I’m assuming the debt is now statute barred since it’s been over 7 years without payment, my issue is the lack of default. If there had been a default it wouldn’t be on my credit file anymore. Is there a way to go about getting the account defaulted or removed from my credit file? Or will I just have to pay it and wait another 6 years for it to drop off?
