My linked account is with First Direct, and they do accumulate a new payee each time I "pull" using OB... but I guess that's hardly a surprise given how First Direct have been lacking in keeping up with modern banking automation lately...Doctor_Who said:
I've used OB to pull money from my Santander account on several occasions and it has never setup a new payee. I wonder if it's dependent on the current account provider? I have used my Chip account details to pay in by FP since it's much less clunky than the OB/Truelayer setup.intalex said:
One benefit of having this set up from your linked account as a "push" option is to avoid the OB "pull" option creating a new existing payee in your linked account each time you pay in using OB, which can quickly become cluttersome.I have the same issue, I just go in at the end of the month and delete Payee.0 -
So can I use the Payee details from the one "pull" via OB that I have done so far, for faster payments? Or should I double-check that somewhere before I send money? I just checked my First Direct and there is just one payee I do not recognise so it is bound to be my Chip account from when I deposited via OB a few days ago.
I appreciate I could always send a pound to see what happens but thought I would ask here, thanks for this thread, it is useful information for someone with FD as main account and a new Chip savings account.0 -
I would follow the instructions in the post on page 2 of this thread and setup a payee using your Chip account details. My Santander account has never automatically setup payees from OB pulls by Chip, so I don't know what details they have.Zuzi said:So can I use the Payee details from the one "pull" via OB that I have done so far, for faster payments? I've just signed up with Chip, think it's been the simplest to validate compared to some, done in seconds. Only transferred £1 to try it out so far, and was immediate. Quite impressed so far, but will have to investigate the app properly to get accustomed to it.
I've checked Clearbank website and they deal with Allica, Recognise, Oxbury, Kroo, Monument, Nomo, Streambank, Tide, Chip, Raisin, Trustly, Paypoint, Manchester Credit Union, Incuto, Scottish Police Credit Union and 1st Class Credit Union.0
