help with aggressive debt collectors for debt I don't owe

PS- I get the impression the debt collectors are hoping to let interest increase the debt I owe so that eventually it'll be worth a fortune & worth taking action against me at some point in the future. I really need this wiped and for people to respond to bring this matter to an end. Actions I can take?0

Your earlier posts stated that you weren't in a position to provide them with your current address, so have you overcome that issue and supplied them with an accurate and verifiable residential address at which you actually live? They are obliged by the Data Protection Act to ensure that personal data is kept up to date, so you are entitled to insist that they update their records, but if there's still some sort of subterfuge about not wanting to disclose where you really live then that would cause them issues....bobbidyboo said:Update on this: debt collection company refuses to update my address. Have you given them a new address?bobbidyboo said:Update on this: debt collection company refuses to update my address. I've asked repeatedly. They reply repeating that I owe them money, but ignore my demand to update my address. They seem to be using my parents health against me, knowing it'll make them unwell to hassle them. Meanwhile, rackspace are no longer responding. The debt collection company just replies with "you owe us money" type emails without listening to a word I'm saying. I don't want my parents to be made ill by this and also don't want to lose my credit rating over a debt I don't physically owe. What are my rights & how can I prevent all this? What would you do- any idea of next steps?
They are not going to change from an address that gets a reply from you to 'no known address'.
They will regard you stating you do not live there as a common tactic used by debtors to avoid payment.
