"Opening amount" is definitely the value at the beginning of the statement period (probably a year ago). A click or hover on the "i" button might confirm that.

My children's CTF are stuck in here too. Struggling to find anywhere that will accept transfers from CTF with lower fees. The fees are zapping my children's money. Can anyone advise?

All I can say is "wow" at the 1.5% fee.

Yes, that is high but do remember that these were tiny values and expensive to run.      They didnt have the cross subsidy of higher value investments to cover these loss makers.  So, they had to charge more.

So, not really a wow for the era and the amounts involved.

  • Does anybody know if there could be any grounds for a class act of sorts on this matter? How could it be that general population was expected to possess investor skills and manage child's investment? Wasn't the initial intention that parents were encouraged to save for their child's future? But instead, they had been locked in a loss making investment. Currently, they are completely locked out of access as OneFamily website is down.

It's not loss making. What data are you seeing? The info posted is for a 12 month period not since inception.

As there is no wrongdoing, on what basis would you want there to be one?

There is no expectation of that.

As it is not loss making there isn't an issue.

On the contrary I'd say that wasn't bad too bad if you've not added anything, it could be far better but would have been much less if it was cash. Equates to around 4% after charges over a period where interest rates were 0.5% for the vast majority of the time. It is free money to the child after all.
