Hi
I recall a while ago on another forum someone posted pics of themselves drinking whilst on hols but one poster said they could tell the location was
not as claimed as the picture owner had not turned off something on their phone/mobile
My new iphone 11 - i know the date of pcitures is encrypted but is the location on default setting and if so what do i need to do, please?
Thnaks

The date photos are taken is not encrypted. If you don't want location information in any photos you take you need to go into the camera settings and make sure the location option is turned off. Where exactly that is on an iPhone I don't know. Go through all the settings you can on your phone to find it.1

Google 'turn off EXIF on iphone' , or
https://www.cnet.com/tech/mobile/you-might-be-giving-up-your-location-when-you-share-photos-on-your-iphone/You don't have to worry about photos you upload to social networksFortunately for you, not all your photos or videos will contain location metadata, because it may have been wiped for you. For example, any photos or videos you upload to Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and other social media services have their EXIF data stripped, for privacy reasons.1 -
