Chip transfers Maximum 5k from natwest a day ?

Does anyone know if there is a work around for the maximum amount Natwest allows for transfers using their app for Chip deposits ?

I am looking to request funds from my natwest into my Chip account but natwest only allows to make 5k payments a day from their app which means it will take me over 1 week to load up the account

I  can transfer upto 20k when using my computer and was wondering if   there  is a way to link the Chip app to the online ( desktop ) Natwest allowing me to confirm payment while on the web version ?


I have linked a debit card but not too sure how long it will or the max amount it will allow to transfer in Chip  , also if the interest starts on the day of transfer or when it lands .

Also would I will I have the same issue the other way - transferring 5k at a time back into natwest ?

hi, i had same issue. you can alter the limit on how much natwest allows you to transfer. if using the mobile app go to payments section and you can increase it there

You cannot use Faster Payments from your bank to CHIP. You should use the pull-in from CHIP.

If Natwest restrict OB to £5k/day, consider using a bank which doesn't have such silly restrictions. Santander and Starling  are good, or HSBC, First Direct and  Danske Bank.

You can probably do more by debit card but I would personally not make debit card deposits because

1. the deposits take 3 working days to clear
2. you don't get interest on uncleared money
3. uncleared money in CHIP is not FSCS protected

Withdrawing from CHIP should not be subject to any limits apart from your balance.

thanks sorted now - I did revise the limit to 20k on the website version but did not realise it had to be changed also on the app  .
