Buying Diesel Abroad

Hi - I'm planning on going on a roadtrip this summer, taking in Belgium, Germany, Denmark, Sweden and Norway. I have a Diesel Seat Alhambra and wanted to know whether the Diesel you can buy in Scandinavia is compatible with UK Diesel Cars. I have read a lot about Swedish Biodiesel, but do not know if it will operate exactly the same in my car without any modification. If anyone has any experience of Driving diesel cars in Scandinavia. pleas e help.

In general you should be ok.
You may need to ask the manufacturer if the specific fuel is compatible with your DPF (if relevant), but I see no reason why it wouldn't be. Most cars made for the UK market are the same as made for the EU market and there are many cases where used cars from Germany etc will end up in Sweden just as they're cheaper to buy.💙💛 💔0 -
No problem. EU diesel fuel is manufactured to the same standard (EN590) and European trucks need fuel so no problem finding it.
You may just need to check the pumps carefully before filling.

You will probably find the grades of diesel your car can use on a label near the fuel filler. B7 is most likely for your car. Pumps will show what grade is for sale. You might also encounter B10 or XTL.
B7 is 7% biodiesel, B10 10% and XTL synthetic diesel.
