New baby passport from Portugal

I'm planning in advance.
Does anyone have an idea of how long it would take to apply for a new (and first) British passport for a baby from overseas - Portugal? Online the answer is vague but perhaps 10 weeks. Is that about right?
I can see that you need to apply online, and that baby photos and other documents (e.g. birth certificate and passports of parents) are needed. Anything else I should be aware of that is needed?
Thanks to anyone who can offer any advice.

When you say "a baby from overseas - Portugal", is this baby actually a UK citizen or will there be more complications regarding eligibility for a British passport?0

The father is a full British citizen - born in the UK.

10 weeks is the standard for passport turnaround. Many are done well within that time.
But the Gov.uk site states timescales are longer for overseas applications.

For passport turnaround, I've heard that some are done in a few weeks, others are taking much longer at the moment. Applying from overseas will always make it take longer.💙💛 💔0 -
You will have to apply online using the overseas route

You haven't clarified the particular circumstances, but if applying as residents of Portugal you're likely to be required to provide documentary evidence of residential address.drumbrake said:Anything else I should be aware of that is needed?
