Major issues with GivEnergy battery and inverter

  • I have had GivEnergy battery for nearly 4 years now and, just over 2 months ago, it failed. The problem still remains due to them not having responded in a timely manner to either my communication or my installer.
The one diagnosis that they did was incorrect and resulted in the wrong part being shipped and the installer having to spend a considerable time on the phone trying to get hold of a competent support person.
Since then, I have received an email from a gentleman who noticed that I have a problem, to which I immediately replied.
I am STILL waiting for a reply to this.
I have now placed an order for a product from another manufacturer and will never buy a GivEnergy product again - which is a shame because it is a British company.
  • Don't know if we were just lucky but some minor problems we had were resolved quite quickly with customer support. That and a Givenergy employee who is very helpful on a Facebook group. Judging from comments there, customer support has got worse since then.

I see today that Givenergy have gone out of business. Any idea what their customers are supposed to do now to fix problems and keep the system running in future?

Speak to their installer (assuming the installer is still in business).

The contract is with the installer as that is who is paid.

Alternatively seek redress if something has failed via debit / credit card processes if paid via that method.

Possibly MCS insurance if relevant and only if the installer was MCS and is no longer trading.
