Compensation for car not being fixed after 5months

I've had my car, a 15 plate Renault clio, since October 2021 which I bought from a reputable car dealership and I got it on finance with a 2 year warranty. In October last year (2022) it broke and so was taken to my local garage that is covered under the warranty.
The issue with the car has been identified but the parts that are needed to fix the issue are on back order and still haven't arrived almost 5 months later. The repair is covered by the warranty but I've been without my car all this time and I'm fortunate enough to have a second car or else I would not have been able to go to work for the last 5 months.
I feel as though I should be entitled to something for having to be without my car all this time and I'm paying for a car that is sat on a garage forecourt.
I asked the warranty people if I was entitled to a courtesy car and they said yes, for up to 7 days. Obviously that's not enough and I have to continue to play a waiting game for Renault to make these parts and then deliver them so the mechanics can fix my car.
I don't know what to do but feel this shouldn't be allowed.
Please help!

There is the right to reject the car for a refund if it doesn't conform to the contract and the trader doesn't repair the car within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience but no right to compensation (perhaps damages if you could show any monetary loss).
With regards to a warranty the company should met the terms of that but again no right to compensation (if not mentioned) only monetary loss. Do the terms set a timeframe for repair, offer anything by way of compensation or things such as a courtesy car?
If you were willing to give up the car for a refund (minus an amount for use since delivery) then there is the final right to reject (depending up what the fault is, how the car was advertised and the price paid).
If it was a Renault dealership then it might be worth politely complaining to Renault directly to see if they will offer any goodwill, other than than that it's down to the goodwill of the dealership, wait it out or sadly give up the car

Welcome to the world of waiting for car parts.
Manufactures can not build new car, with waits of a year not uncommon. So a 8 year old car is not going to be top of the list for parts if there are non in stock. Quite surprising that there are not 3rd party suppliers for the parts though.
Sadly compensation will not be forthcoming. Even manufactures warranties do not cover replacement cars. That is down to the dealer the car is with to supply a temp car.Life in the slow lane0
