What if your wife, and all your children pre-decease you?
I'll take that infinitesimally small risk
It might be low risk, but why take the chance for the sake of £200 - £300 which is roughly what a will would cost you.
Apparently there are around 9,500 unclaimed estates in the UK, and the average value of an estate is £150,000 - so potentially another £1.4billion to government coffers courtesy of those who haven't made a will, and where no one can inherit under the intestacy rules.
I have no children, but I do have a will. In the event of all those named predeceasing me, my money is to be divided between charities of my choice.
