PIP enquiry line

Hello everyone,
Has anyone had success in getting PIP enquiry line to link in a 3rd party to the call, someone that is not an official representative for the claimant, but someone whom the claimant verbally authorises to be on the call. Someone very close to me is awaiting a Mandatory Reconsideration decision and I want to help them phone PIP to make enquiries on this, but without me on the phone, it will be hard for my family member to make their question clear to PIP. The said claimant lives too far away for us to meet up physically and phone PIP.
Can the claimant call PIP and ask for a 3rd party to be linked into the call, or would they likely not have the infrastructure/technology for this.
We don't have time to get a letter written, send it to PIP and then wait for them to authorise me as an agreed advocate or however they word it.
Hope this makes sense, sorry if it doesn't.
Thank you.

No they have no infrastructure for this, owing to using VOIP technology and not all agents can make outbound calls, however, if you are in the same location as them, during the call, they can give explicit consent for the PIP call handler to speak with you, once they have passed the security checks.

As you know what it is the person needs to ask, would it be possible to help them word it and write down exactly what they need to say, before the phone call? I don't know how much use phoning the enquiry line would be, depending on the query - if it's related to the case itself, chances are someone will have to phone them back who is not a frontline call handler.1

During assessment there is nothing stopping you from being in the same room and having the call on speaker, so you both can understand. I was taught to lways ask who was with the claimant and note if that third person had provided any assistance.
Obviously your pass that stage now, but worth being in. Mind for the future.Proud to have dealt with our debtsStarting debt 2005 £65.7K.
