PIP backclaim

Hi I was awarded PIP after a tribunal on 16/05/2022 backdated to 09/07/2021. I received daily living component enhanced and mobility standard. I was therefor entitled to full council tax relief (Wales). My LA allowed me full relief 2022 to 2023 but I have been informed by my LA that I cannot back claim on the 2021 to 2022 Year and that I should have claimed it in May 2022 ( I was not informed of this at the time. Help please can I claim the money?

I am no expert, but I am sure that the council is correct and you cant back claim CT reductions.

I assume you notified them in 05/2022 hence the reduction for 22/23.  As you may know CT runs from April to March.  So although your PIP was backdated at this point the CT year 21/22 had already passed.

But I am happy to be wrong.

Can you provide a timeline on when you applied for CTR
