Santander Esaver without a current account

I opened a Santander Esaver a few months ago, now I want to switch by Santander 123 lite to another bank.
What can I do about the Esaver if my S123 account is closed?
From the T&C's, I don't think you need a current account to have an Esaver, but I don't see anyway to get money out of it - the only option is to transfer funds to one of you own (i.e. a Santander) accounts.

Open another 123 lite before switching.

Should be easy to open another current account with Santander, preferably before you switch the first away.alanwsg said:I opened a Santander Esaver a few months ago, now I want to switch by Santander 123 lite to another bank.

I opened an e-saver before having a current ac. with Santander. You need to set up a "nominated account" for the e-saver. This allows funds to be sent only to whichever account you nominate.alanwsg said:I opened a Santander Esaver a few months ago, now I want to switch by Santander 123 lite to another bank.

123 Lite has gone.grumbler said:Open another 123 lite before switching.
Other accounts available though.2 -
The 123 lite account has been withdrawn to new applicants.grumbler said:Open another 123 lite before switching.
OP, If you found the benefits worthwhile, you wouldn't be able to open a new one.
As mentioned, you could open an "Everyday account", and switch that instead.0 -
Hi @alanwsg ...
I was in the same position as you. I had a Santander 123 lite, opened the eSaver, and switched the current account which I'd had for 34 years. No problems.alanwsg said:I opened a Santander Esaver a few months ago, now I want to switch by Santander 123 lite to another bank.

I was able to set up payees for funds transfers to external accounts on the e-Saver and could perform transfers in from external accounts. I was able to use internet banking as before using the same login.

Close the Esaver it’s not a good rate any more.I’ve kept mine but it’s convenient to have a small savings amount with my current account, I still think 123 lite is best for cash back on bills.0

If you are Santander Customer, it is very easy to open a new Bank AC with Santander. I just did that yesterday. I am considering it to be used for another switching to Halifax.

You don't need a Santander current account to operate the eSaver and you can pay in and out of an eSaver using any external account you like (it doesn't require you to use a single, nominated account for this).
