@Coupon-mad this is clear, i'll leave it for now then. i'm moving soon actually, do I provide my address to DCB Ltd or Legal? Seems odd to contact them to give them my address, but not mention the elephant in the room haha.

Tell Topher and require them to further notify the change of address to any of their agents with whom they have shared your data. Do it via the PPC's Data Protection Officer whose email address should be included in their website's Privacy page.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

    Yes it is...
Can you work out where the word 'Topher' came from?   ;)

Neither. I already told you who to contact and what wording to use in my initial response to your first post.

There is no Hephalump in the room. You are being advised to take a preventative measure to stop you getting trampled at a later date.

I don't have time to really swat up on the subject, so if there's a good chance they'll recover this in the future by whatever means, please indicate so I can pay and avoid the stress
Unfortunately, you are requesting assistance but repeatedly ask or say you want to pay the scammers. If you are not able or just don't want to be bothered by 'swatting up' on the process, then you are highly likely to become one of the 1% of victims on this forum who end up funding these scammers.

The regulars on here provide their time and expertise gratis. All that is expected from the victims is a bit of their own time doing a bit of research, mostly by reading, re-reading and reading again the Newbies thread where everything is explained. Skim-reading it and then asking questions that are already answered in the Newbies thread is not considered acceptable.

You are either one of the 99% who have a claim either won at court or discontinued before it ever gets there because of the advice in Newbies thread and given on the forum is followed with a bit of 'swatting up' or you are one of the 1% who can't be bothered or just pay up and fund these scammers in order to have the easy life.

Which one are you? A 1 percenter or a 99 percenter?

Can anyone also advise on this which I received today
it dates back to 26 July 2021 which I don’t recall at all and now being threatened with legal action
Is this legal to do after almost 3 yrs when most people don’t recall and there is no proof to look at pics of alleged parking violation ?

I have reported your post because it contains personal information that you should not show on a public forum.

You have posted on someone else's thread that is nearly a year old with a random question unrelated to the thread itself. Please read the sticky Announcement for NEWBIES that asks everyone to read it first, then start your own thread if you need further help.

Please pay particular attention to the fourth post of the NEWBIES that explains exactly what to do if your receive correspondence from a powerless debt collector. In short, ignore it, or wipe your backside with it, or shred it and use it for hamster bedding, or twist it into firelighters for a multi-fuel stove.

    1. Can someone advise on this please, i have received this as the first contact from DCBL. Previous  letters were sent from the parking company but to my old address. The original fine was £100 but £60 if paid in 14 days, i no longer have that option of course but my point is they wrote to my old address if at all......can i ignore or push to pay the original amount? any advice would be gratefully received

Yep, just read and look at the pictures of letters like that, in the 4th post of the NEWBIES thread.

In short: ignore letters like the ones in the sticky thread EXCEPT to email once, to tell useless aggressors DCB and also the parking firm to ERASE THE OLD ADDRESS.

That's vital. It is unsafe to leave them with a choice of two for the court claim form.

Yours is the same old, same old letter we didn't need to look at. But because it's demanding £160 instead of £170, I'm going to add a redacted picture of it in the NEWBIES thread 4th post to stop people saying "my case is different because it's £160."  No DCB parking case is different.

And it is, of course, NOT a 'fine'.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
